Get Your Garden Summer Ready

Spend some more time outside this summer by embracing your own garden and preparing it to look it’s best. So preen those shrubs, plant those flowers and get yourself ready for a long summer with Black By Design.

Outdoor Entertaining

Light, balmy evenings are the perfect excuse to gather with friends in the back garden and show off your hosting skills by having a barbecue or garden party. When the night draws in, ignite a fire pit or a couple of garden torches from Blomus and have some throws to hand to create a cosy atmosphere outdoors.
Our fantastic outdoor lighting range provides an impressive array of choice, from wall lights, lanterns and candle holders. Enjoy the modern look of metal lanterns from Sirius by placing them in dark corners or on tables, whilst delicate tea light holders by Robert Welch offer a more intimate feel.

Garden accessories also get a spotlight during the summer months as flowers are given optimum chance to shine. Stylish wire plant pots by Menu in minimal monochrome designs are the ideal choice for those who seek a contemporary look. Add extra unique pieces such as a cast iron weather vane or outdoor thermometer to keep up to date with the climate throughout the day.

Al Fresco Living

A great tip on how to get your garden ready for summer lies in the outdoor furniture you choose; comfort and style go hand in hand to help make sitting in the sun a pleasure. For laidback, kitsch furniture styles, we have some wonderful designer deckchairs from Plum & Ashby which feature summery prints. For a sociable seating arrangement with somewhere to place your cocktails, opt for the Rive Driote bistro table & two chair set by Garden Trading.

During the longer days, why not indulge in a garden picnic for dinner with a designer picnic rug from Tweedmill. With various designs to choose from you’re bound to find a style to suit your personal taste

As we’re well aware of the unpredictability of British weather, why not bring the garden inside by peppering your house with fresh (or artificial!) greenery which will brighten up any room, come rain or shine.
